 Chocolate is the name of a food which is derived from the cacao tree found in tropical regions of the world. These foods can be sometimes raw or unprocessed and processed ones. The word chocolate comes from the Mexican word xocolatl which is derived from xocolli meaning bitter and atl meaning water. So actually xocolatl means bitter water. The mayans and Aztecs of Mexico used xocolatl as a drink. Chocolate is associated with the Mayan god of fertility.
